Develop and Disseminate Knowledge

The Child Abuse Prevention Program aims to enhance the prevention field through the dissemination of research findings and information on best practices. This goal was developed in 2008 in response to the findings of the Child Abuse Prevention Program's most recent external program review, and reflects recommendations made by the expert opinions solicited during the review process.

To accomplish this goal, the Child Abuse Prevention Program may support the following types of activities:

  • Longitudinal studies and program evaluations that have additional funding in place and will make contributions specifically to the prevention of maltreatment;
  • Efforts to educate and inform policymakers and practitioners about how to sustain, improve and expand prevention efforts;
  • Communication of research findings and information about best prevention practices;
  • Dissemination activities to increase awareness of DDCF grantees’ work and accomplishments.
