Leslie Engel joined the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation in 2005 and is currently the Program Associate for Medical Research.
Prior to joining DDCF Ms. Engel worked for the Hazelden Foundation providing education and training on substance abuse issues to physicians. An interest in how food impacts human health led Ms. Engel to complete a Masters in Public Health program, with honors, at Hunter College. She earned a B.S. in Print Journalism from Emerson College in Boston, MA, and worked at HarperCollins Publishers before moving into the nonprofit world.
